Our eyelash extensions are applied on your own natural eyelashes one by one (without touching the skin) with an specially designed bonding agent developed exclusively for eyelash extensions. This new technique is not harmful to your natural eyelashes. The adhesive dries very soft on lashes allowing flexibility and comfort.
The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Your lashes grow every two days. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. If you are one to get regular refills, it is highly recommended that you use a lash serum to promote growth.
We use salon professional mink lashes as they are a high end synthetic and much more cost effective than Siberian mink. The feel of high end synthetic compared to real mink is almost unnoticeable. I also use silk lashes.
Classic eyelash extensions take about 1-1.5 hours to complete. Volume lashes can take up to 3 hours depending on the depth and thickness desired.
Classic eyelash extensions can last anywhere form 3-4 weeks. Volume lashes can last up to 6-8 weeks. Everyone is different depending on each person's lifestyle. It is normal for you to shed 3-5 lashes per day after application. The full set does not just fall off at once.
We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 3 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45 – 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as exposure to steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. A touch up is needed to fill in any lashes that fallen. Touch ups average about 45 minutes.
There is always a possibility for infection or allergic reaction to the either the glue or the lashes itself. The glue I use is made in Canada, however, some react and many don't. If you experience extreme itching, burning or crusting along the lash line, I encourage you to have the lashes removed immediately. You can either do this by applying coconut oil to the lashes and this will breakdown the adhesive and the lashes should slide off. If this is unsuccessful, please contact me and I can remove your lashes with a lash remover solution.
You are required to lay flat on your back for a minimum of 1 hour with your eyes closed for the duration of the session. Lash extensions cannot be applied while you are sitting upright or with your eyes open. Stretching breaks are encouraged as long as your eyes remain closed.
If you have sensitive eyes and tend to water at the thought of someone close to your eyes, it is recommended that you take an anti-histamine like Claritin or Reactine 1 hour before your appointment. This will prevent excessive tearing.
The glue used to apply extensions contains the main ingredient called Ethyl Cyanoacrylate. This ingredient allows the lash to be flexible and to adhere within 1 second of application. However, room humidity levels dictates how well the glue holds and lasts for clients. During the winter months, it is drier indoors. A humidifier is used to bring humidity between 40-50%. During the summer months, humidity is everywhere. A de-humidifier is used to reduce excess moisture.
Nevertheless, should you experience lash shed too soon, do not hesitate to contact me and I will replace lost lashes complimentary.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remove all mascara if you are getting a full set. Removing mascara can take up to 20 minutes of your appointment. Surcharges may apply.
